A buyer should review the actual menu structure, alarm history, parameter permissions, language options, and backup or replacement procedure. If multiple machines will share operators, standardizing the HMI and training materials may matter more than the display size alone.

3. Electrical Cabinet and Exterior Layout

The SLK-008 has a recessed cabinet section, whereas the SLK-009 presents a fuller exterior profile on the corresponding side. This is a physical layout difference, not evidence of a durability or environmental-protection advantage.

Use the current general-arrangement drawing to check aisle clearance, approach to the pallet, charging location, storage position, doors or covers, and maintenance access. The visible exterior alone does not confirm enclosure rating, cooling arrangement, internal component access, or total machine dimensions.

4. Reversing-Head Architecture

The SLK-008 uses an integrated reversing-head design, while the SLK-009 uses a split design that includes a flip carriage and a stop carriage. This architecture is directly relevant to troubleshooting, parts identification, and distributor inventory.

The different architectures do not establish that one design is quicker to service or more reliable. Before stocking spares, request an exploded drawing for the exact revision and map each wear or replacement item to its part number. A generic request for an “Elephant reversing head” is not precise enough when the two models use different structures.

Shortlist the SLK-009 when the 7-inch landscape interface and its split reversing-head configuration fit the team’s current preference and the organization is prepared to support the SLK-009-specific parts.

For a new installation, neither model should win solely because of the model number or motor count. Compare the complete quoted configuration against the same pallet samples and acceptance criteria. For an installed base, calculate the cost of adding another set of model-specific spares, drawings, training, and troubleshooting procedures before mixing SLK-008 and SLK-009 machines at the same site.

Distributors should make the installed-base decision explicit. A larger range of supported configurations can serve more applications, but it also creates more part numbers and more opportunities to ship an incompatible assembly. A controlled compatibility matrix is more useful than relying on visual similarity.
